SARCER & SARMOS

High-strength anti-wear ceramic coatings for industrial plants

SARCER is obtained through controlled sintering of atomized Alpha-Alumina powder: the result of the process is a perfectly dense and compact product with extreme hardness, second only to diamond. SARCER is the product with the highest performance against wear.

The refinement of production techniques has allowed for the creation of small-sized pieces, without altering their structural and technical characteristics, suitable for obtaining mosaic panels: SARMOS. This product combines ease of installation with effective protection: excellent surface coverage, reduced installation time, thickness, and weight.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Surface Preparation

Surface preparation is important for the long-term performance of the product. The parameters can vary depending on the severity of the application, expected lifespan, and initial conditions of the substrates to be treated.

  1. Remove dirt, oil, grease, etc. with a suitable cleaner.
  2. Any irregularities, splashes, or weld marks, as well as any other surface roughness, must be smoothed and leveled; any indentations or porosity must be filled and leveled.
  3. Sandblast the entire surface to be treated with an angular grit to achieve a roughness of 50-70 microns, and a blast cleaning degree close to white metal (SIS SA 2½ /SSPC-SP 10). For immersion applications, a white metal blast cleaning degree (SIS SA 3/SSPC-SP 5) is required.
  4. After sandblasting, the metal surface must be cleaned with a residue-free cleaner or solvent to remove dust and contaminants. Dry, clean compressed air can also be used. The surface must be coated before new oxidation occurs.

SARCER

SARCER is the anti-wear ceramic coating developed by SARO through controlled sintering of atomized alpha-alumina powder. The special production process allows the creation of a material that is:

  • perfectly compact and dense
  • characterized by extremely high hardness
  • highly resistant to abrasion and erosion
  • with the highest anti-wear performance available in the industrial sector

SARCER's hardness, second only to diamond, makes it particularly suitable for applications with high mechanical stress and continuous heavy wear. Another distinctive feature is its high chemical inertness, which ensures resistance in most aggressive industrial environments. SARCER is used for:

  • anti-abrasion coatings
  • Wear-resistant technical components
  • Pneumatic piping and fittings
  • Cyclones and separators
  • bellows and material contact points
  • Pneumatic and mechanical transport systems

SARMOS

The evolution of SARO production technologies has enabled the development of SARMOS, a mosaic solution obtained while maintaining the unchanged technical and structural performance of SARCER. The modular mosaic structure allows for:

  • greater geometric adaptability
  • simplicity and speed of installation
  • Effective coating of complex surfaces
  • weight loss and thinning
  • Application cost optimization

The SARMOS technology also allows for the coating of:

  • non-standard tubes and bends
  • surfaces with complex geometries

The mosaic structure also offers an important operational advantage: any impacts or damage remain localized to the individual plates involved, limiting the extent of the damaged area and facilitating maintenance interventions.
