INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Surface Preparation

Proper surface preparation is critical for the long-term performance of this product. Exact requirements vary based on the severity of the application, anticipated service life, and the initial conditions of the substrate.

  1. All welds and weld spatter must be ground flush. Blast all surfaces to be coated with angular grit to a profile of 50-70 microns and a near-white metal cleaning degree (SIS SA 2½ /SSPC-SP 10).
  2. After sandblasting, metal surfaces must be cleaned and coated before any oxidation.

Method of Application

  1. Film thickness per layer: minimum 6 mm.
  2. Apply the material to the prepared surface by first forcing a thin layer deep into the consistency of the substrate.
  3. Immediately thereafter, build up to the required finished thickness.

Check:

Caution: Use an approved positive pressure air respirator when welding or cutting near the cured compound. Do not use open flames on the compound.

Repairs

Any voids, holes, or thin areas found in the coating can be repaired by lightly abrading, cleaning the area, and applying additional product.

Cleaning

Immediately after use, tools must be cleaned with a suitable detergent, e.g., a solvent such as acetone or isopropyl alcohol. Once hardened, the material can only be removed mechanically.
